hey there!

It's Tiffany - the self-proclaimed health nerd.

I am a certified holistic Nutrition Consultant (NC) and am Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition (BCHN®) by the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (whew, that was a mouthful!). I know a thing or two about nutrition and health - but I wasn't always this passionate about it. . .

Yes, I started making connections between food and how I felt while in high school, but making health a priority was something I moved in and out of over the following two-decades. I was one of many college students in the early 2000’s who enjoyed a good party and late-night dining, but I also dabbled in yoga and running. Back then, my body was seemingly like silly putty. I could put it through all kinds of stunts – be they athletic or gastronomical – and it would bounce back with ease.

As a young professional utilizing my master’s degree in accounting, I encountered a new kind of stress. It is called adulthood. Paying bills, climbing the corporate ladder, realizing I had a ticking biological clock, looking for a life-partner, getting married, figuring out the title of “wife”. . . This phase of life brought on a love of running to cope with stress and work through some past emotional trauma. All the long runs led to a greater interest in nutrition and turning a critical eye towards frequent happy hours.

Then, along came introducing the ups and downs of adulthood to the sheer joy and panic of parenthood. At this crossroads, my spark of an interest in health and nutrition received a burst of fresh air and quickly became a roaring fire. If I was going to bring another human into the world, I wanted to be healthier, I wanted my husband to be healthier, and our home to be healthier -- and these were not things my doctor or Ob/Gyn were discussing with me.

So, I began to educate myself. I checked out piles of books from the library, queued up the podcast episodes, went to workshops, and several years into this journey I learned about certification programs. With the support of my husband, I dove into the program while having a toddler and preschooler at home.

At the time, I felt I would use the knowledge I gained to benefit my family and that alone was worth the time and money. However, with the passage of time and the continuing decline of health in the population at large, I do not feel I can keep what I know contained within my home.
